Version 2.1.0 of Our Mobile Web App is Out!

Since we first released version 2.0 of CellSend, we only had 1 minor update to our web app and we are happy to report it had very little problems.

Today we are releasing the first major update – version 2.1.0.
Version 2.1.0 adds allot of UI changes as well as new features.

Here is the full release notes for this version:

  • New “Open In…” button – click the button to open a popup with list of 3rd party apps to open your text in, with large app icons for easy tapping.
  • Added support for Twitter and Instapaper (in the “Open In” section).
  • Maps is now device-specific – When using an iOS device, the text will open in Apple Maps app, for Android – Google Maps and for Windows Phone – Bing Maps.
    The Maps icon will also change according to your device.
  • New Phone Menu – clicking on a phone number in your text will open up the phone menu, allowing you to choose either “call” or “sms”.
  • New icons for “Delete” and “Reader”.
  • Reader now has a grey color theme, making it easier on the eyes when reading long texts.
  • Reader text font is now “Open Sans” – a cleaner, nicer and easier to read font.
  • Better phone number highlighting – we now recognize more phone number formations.

How To: Install CellSend on Your Mobile Device

How To

Welcome to a new set of blog posts, dedicated to show you how to do stuff with CellSend.
These guides should make things clearer and help you get the most out of CellSend.

In out first post, we will teach you how to install the CellSend web app on your phone or tablet.

First, make sure you know what your verification code is.
Your verification code is made of 5 – 6 characters and you use it to log in to CellSend.
You are shown this code when you signup, and it can also be seen when you login to one of CellSend’s products.

Once you have your verification code, open your device’s browser and go to www.cellsend.net

In the text box, enter your code and click “Login”.

You are now in the CellSend web app!
Make sure to save this page so you can easily access it later.
You can also add the app to your device’s homescreen by following the instructions on our Help page – under: “How do i add the CellSend app to my phone’s home screen?”

CellSend add-on for Opera is now available


Opera users, rejoice!

CellSend is now available for the Opera browser.
This is the 2nd browser we support with a dedicated add-on, following the CellSend extension for Google Chrome.

Version 2.0.6 of the CellSend add-on is now in the Opera gallery, you can check it out here: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/cellsend

Version 2.0.6 of the CellSend Chrome Extension is out

Version 2.0.6 of our Google Chrome extension has been released to the Chrome Web Store.

This version adds context menus localization support for Hebrew.

If your browser is set to be displayed in Hebrew, the CellSend context menu will now show up in Hebrew as well.

We will add additional languages in the future, if you want us to add your language please contact us.

Version 2.0.5 of the CellSend Chrome Extension is out

We are happy to report that version 2.0.5 of our Chrome extension has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store!

This version adds context menu support for CellSend.

Now you can right click on a page and choose to send the page’s URL to CellSend! No need to click the icon in the toolbar or open the interface!

But wait, there’s more!

  • Highlight some text then right click to send the selected text to your CellSend account.
  • Right click on an image and you can send the image’s URL to your CellSend account.
  • Right click on a link and you can send the link to your CellSend account.

Please note that the context menu options will only work when you are logged in to CellSend.

The update should reach you very soon!
The extension now requires more permissions so after it’s updated, it may be automatically disabled by Chrome and you will need to re-enable it.

We have a new homepage, mobile site and web interface!


We are happy to announce some massive updates!

We updated our homepage with a brand new and cleaner design.
This design should make it simpler to signup for a CellSend account.

Instead of a simple page on the site, the web interface is now a small popup window that you can minimize and use when you need it!

It has also been updated to match the design of the Chrome Extension and our mobile web app.
